Ronning's Garden

Beautiful serene area with nice trees . Very very large monkey tree .

This garden is located off the beaten path. It's worth driving in and checking it out as it's a short walk. There are lots of monkey trees and other beautiful flowers if you time it right! If you're visiting San Joseph, and have some extra time I'd make the detour. If you don't have much time I'd head straight to the beach to relax.I don't think I'd go back unless I was showing someone else the little garden, but I'm definitely happy I went once.

Amazing place. Such an interesting find in the middle of the forest. When we were there the sign to the garden had been knocked over by a large rock so we were slightly confused about which way to go. So if you go west from the parking lot (to the left when you’re driving in) and walk for just over a kilometre (estimation) just beyond the hill you can see a clearing and that’s where the gardens begin. It was lovely in the spring with all the flowers blooming. There was one map left at R+J’s cabin (posted below) which was helpful. We also didn’t see the information sign on the wagon road - a storm may have knocked it over. The cemetery is also a nice visit with an old car and mysterious graves. It is to the east of the parking lot.

A cool experience only a short walk from the parking area just off the main road.
